Now available in a 5 day course, Gentling Wild Horses provides participants the opportunity to use Monty's non-violent methods with previously unhandled horses. Open to students of all levels of equine experience, participants will observe and have hands-on lessons according to their levels of skill and prior experience. Participants work in Monty Roberts’ patented, unique facility (the IFA Untouched Gentling Pen) which is designed for the humane treatment of wild horses, and the safety of horse and handler. 


Participants have an opportunity to experience a horse’s first touch by human hand and will assist the horses going through the gentling process - haltered, led, groomed, desensitized, and have their feet picked up. It is a fantastic way for those interested in equine psychology to learn more about the nature of the horse (and people too).

Additionally, the course offers trainers, horse owners and volunteers in the equine industry (particularly those dealing with difficult horses) the opportunity to learn a new approach in dealing with young, challenging and unstarted horses.

Once you have placed the order for your space in the upcoming course, our Monty Roberts Certified Instructors will contact you to confirm receiving the order and also answer any questions you may have regarding participation.  We will also provide additional enrollment paperwork which will need to be filled out and submitted prior to attending.

Included in the course is a subscription to Monty's Equus Online University. This online learning tool will support your continuing education in Monty's methods.  If you are currently an Equus Online University member, we will extend your subscription at the end of the course.  Please note, courses are not eligible for the Equus Online University Discount.

Experience a life change experience literally !

"Got to see wild horses becoming friendly horses, got to work on them from the beginning without violence with just light touch and soft handling, no to mention we learned that believe it or not sometimes just knowing how to breath properly and calm while approaching a wild horse will do wonders with the horse. It is all about learning the language of the horse and understanding what they fear and what we fear, following great non violent Technics, safety methods and practicing, My wife and I spent two weeks learning with Monty and his instructors and not only we learned how to start wild horses but how they communicate, we also learned how to be calmer, control emotions and to be a better person to deal with horses and people. This learning experience was so fun that it felt like a vacation! Highly Recommend it."
